George Clooney became a United Nations messenger of peace. He was supposed to present his message of peace in Sudan's Darfur, but unfortunately he was blocked from the speech. Some diplomats think that his presence in Darfur is of no importance. Clooney delivered his message through the news conference. He thinks that the message is the most important fact in this world. George Clooney said that this message is what people watch and that this fact ensures no fail in human believes. "Millions are homeless, not from famine or disease or acts of God, but from a well armed militia intent on ridding the land of its people," said George Clooney. The actor raised money for refugees through the charity and pointed at the crisis in Darfur. He said that people don't want to see much violence in the world, they tend not to see everything that is happening in the world. "It seems as if at times celebrity can bring that focus. It can't make the policies, it can't change people's minds really, but you can bring a camera where you go because they'll follow you and you can shine a light on it. That seems to be my job." There are several more famous people who are messengers for the U.N., they are for instance Michael Douglas, Paulo Coelho, Jane Goodall and many more.
