North Korea gives in Claudia Sonea

After years of tension because of the North Korea's nuclear program, the results are starting to be seen. The nuclear test on last October led to the meeting in Geneva where after many talks the North Korea officials agreed to declare nuclear programs and dismantle all its nuclear activities. The head of the North Korean delegation, Kim Gye Gwan, stated that they give in because of the political and economical compensation, but he did not revealed any dates. Hill, a U.S. assistant secretary of state, was satisfied of the talks' results between the two countries and was very optimistic on the future meeting later this month with Japan, Russia, South Korea and China. The date given by him was the end of 2007 and said U.S. relations with North Korea will depend on other progress in the talks. Moreover Patricia Lewis, director of the U.N. Institute for Disarmament Research in Geneva also comes to support Kim's declaration of clear willingness to dismantle all nuclear facilities, by saying that U.N. inspectors have been allowed to get back to the country and verify what is declared. One of the North Korea's demands was to be removed from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism and will receive in exchange oil and other aid. Daniel Pinkston, head of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the Monterey, believes that Democratic People's Republic of Korea will keep their word and that is important to declare all the uranium enrichment and plutonium stocks. Until further notice, stay connected and sleep better at night.
