New cabinet will concilliate Ivory Coast by Zivka Deleva

Ivory Coast Prime Minister Guillaume Soro is going to create a new cabinet today and is intending to put an end of the 10 days political crisis in the country. After seven people were killed and 15 were injured, it was finally the right time to find a solution. For the bloodshed in the western town of Gagnoa are responsible the security forces. The mediator of the talks between the local governement and the opposition in Ivory Coast, was Burkina Faso's President Blaise Compaoré, who at the end od the marathon talks, is satisfied with Soro’s decision. He helped the discussion after the main opposition leaders and Soro didn’t find a common solution on Sunday ! in Ouagadougou. So they decided to form a new unity government. "I'm pleased to announce that these talks have come to fruition and have allowed the Ivoirian political players to come to an understanding to advance the process of exiting this crisis — and above all to bring peace to our country," said Soro. The crisis showed up after self-proclaimed president for five years Laurent Gbagbo sacked the government and the Independent Electoral Commission, because it increased the numbers of opposition supporters on voter lists. The opposed sites decided to reconstitute the IEC this week. Gbagbo’s mandate was finished for five years and during that period he has already prolonged the elections for six times, aware that he is not going to have his people support one more time. The most important thing now is to create the conditions for the new presidential election this year. The question that is inevitable is whether the West African country is able to organize ! democratic elections. As international media reported, it was! strange that these demonstrations weren’t a kind of a mass uprisings that the capital of Abidjan already knows. Demonstrators were “all male, under the age of 30 and all fairly poor” – wrote Marco Chown Oved, RFI correspondent in Abidjan.
