The Israel-Palestinian situation Nina Nevidzanska

The radical Palestinian organization Hamas offered Israel a 6-month truce in Gaza Strip. Israel did refused this proposal, and understand it just as a tricky step of this Islamic group. The Israel representatives think that Hamas just needs time to rearm and train new soldiers. The army member also need to recover from previous serious fights. The Palestinian leader Mahmoud Zahar suggested this bilateral armistice after yesterdays official meeting with the Egypt government in Kairo. He further requires reopening all of the border passages in Gaza Strip. With the quiting the fight attacks did agree also Islamic jihad and other military Palestinian organizations. Few days ago Israel advised, that it is not going to provide any of direct or indirect dialogs with the radical Hamas about the truce. Israel keep saying that nothing is going to change till Hamas does not stop providing its daily rocket attacks on Jewish frontier areas. But this official offer is already a second one, as Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal offered Israel 10-year "hunda" (Arabic word meaning truce), if Jewish state abandons the territory gained in Israel-Palestinian war in 1967. He also proclaimed, that Hamas will never officially accept the Israel existence, the country will be respected just as a territory. Today morning two of the Israel wardens were shot by an unknown assassin near Israel-Jordan borders. So the situation between Hamas and Israel is really serious again. Hope one day both sides will find the common speech to stop all of this meaningless conflict
