Associated Press photographer liberated after two-year detention
Bilal Hussein, an Associated Press photographer, was finally freed after more than 2 years in custody. He was accused of having connections with insurgents and what is more, he was deemed to have materials for bomb. Thus, he was taken to prison in April 12 in 2006. In December his case was sent to Iraq court system. It made all legal requirements to make judicial amnesty committee to rethink the case. It came up with the decision that no trial was going to be held in connection with Hussein case. Fortunately, there was information about the U.S. law concerning the amnesty in order to keep good relationship with the state. This law was enacted in February by the Iraqi parliament. Resulting from this, Hussein amnesty was confirmed automatically. Consequently after the affirmation of this proclaim, the U. S. military's detention command told on Monday it had no reason to suspect Bilal any longerBig family of Bilal was having the happiest day in their lives. His 69 year-old mother told she even could not sleep all night due to unbelievable happy expectations that have finally become true. She thanked Got that her son was released and she also hope that this feeling can be experienced by every one whose relative is in military prison. As a matter of fact, she also knew her son had no interference in any crime. As well as Hussein family his colleagues were very lucky to see him again. He was a member of a team which won a Pulitzer prize in 2005 for photography in a war zone.
