Problem of modern piracy has been a long term run in Somalia. This country, hit by enormous poverty, literally decades of years without any working law system is desperate. Here, you can see what it means to obey the right of stronger player. For years the power and justice lied in the hands of fighting clans. These clans fought for everything. From resources like water, pasturage, cattle to the guns. This country has been in war for many years. And traditional weapons like sprears and arrows had been replaced by modern guns. The civil war was followed by famine that left more than 300,000 dead. Despite some international interventions like peacekeeping operation United Nat! ionas Operation in Somalia UNOSOM, these peace efforts didn't last long. The country was left to mercy of religion fighters, gun smugglers and pirats. So before commenting any of current news about pirates capturing over 300 foreign prisoners, we should realize that they see themselves acting by law. The law of stronger one. They do their job, although there is no humanity in our eyes. For years, they have been sharing their profits with Islamist forces in the country. For years, they've been living side by side, occupying this country. Past few weeks, we've heard pirates refused to donate militant group Hizbul Islam. And this group reacted very clearly. Past days we've heard Hizbul Islam invaded ports occupied by pirates in Haradhere. And its representatives said they had to clean the town. For a while they didn't plan any further move south. But here the sign was shown. Somalia may be a victim of another war.
