Ten people died and three left injured in a aircraft crash of a military aircraft that happened yesterday, few minutes after it departed from the Tuzla airport, south of the Black Sea port of Constanta County. The Antonov AN-2 aircraft is a biplane of Soviet design and it had nine paratroopers and four crew members. "The aircraft ... which was on a flying mission for parachuting training crashed Monday. Ten military personnel lost their lives in the air catastrophe and three were injured" - the Romanian defense ministry said in a statement. One of injured men is in coma, the other two are still in bad condition. Some witnesses say that three paratroopers have managed to jum! p before the crash, and the ten corps were found in the plane. Commander of the Air Force School, Nicolae Jianu was in the plane when it crashed. The accident is under investigation, till now it is not known who's to be blamed. Technical committee is organized to investigate. The parachutists were from the Romanian Navy. They had a training mission, but only few moments after the takeoff, the aircraft lost height and touched the ground. The plane burned right a way, but thanks to the quick reaction of the hook and ladders it was cooled in half an hour. As it should, the political officials, like the Minister of the National Defense and the chief of general staff, admiral Gheorghe Marin expressed their regrets to the families of the victims. It is still not confirmed whether the plain had a technical mechanical problem.
