These days French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been dealing with media scandal having its roots in unclear sponsoring payments. The donor these time is supposed to be the L'Oreal heiress, Liliane Bettencourt. The donation payment in amount of 150,000 euro was made via Labour Minister Eric Woerth in 2007. These are the official information from Bettencourt's accountant, identified by investigative website Mediapart as Claire T. Although Nicolas Sarkozy today rejected this information labeling it “totally false! 221;, accountant's lawyer Antoine Gillot said that his client had confirmed these information to the police. Sarkozy collected 150,000 during March 2007, during his presidency campaign via Woerth who has been Sarkozy's budget minister and his labour minister. This time there have been increasing stress for his resignation. The legal amount of donation was limited up to 7,500 euros for political parties and 4,600 euros for a person, itself. According accountant Sarkozy was an often visitor at Bettencourt family where he received also envelopes of cash at the time he was mayor of Neuilly. Envelopes were prepared by accountant herself and she left no record of payments. According Gillot the main payment had to be delivered to Woerth at a dinner. For Sarkozy it is certainly a bad timing, since the crisis and economic reforms hit hard his popularity that has decreased down to 26 percent, a poll conducted by Vivavoice.
