Turks insist on Israeli apology by Zivka Deleva

Turks want “sorry” from Israeli, they on the other hand, are stubborn and don’t even think about such a thing. What is it all about? One month ago, nine Turks were killed on a Turkish ship that looked forward to aid Gaza. But Israel said that it will never apologize for that action. Now, Ankara is threatening with ceasing of all the ties and collaboration between the two countries and it has already forbidden for Israel to use Turkish airspace in any purpose. The Turkish position is that Israel must let go and at least say they are sorry or any possible relations are going to be finished. This was the decisive point of view of the Turkish government. "If t! heir own commission concludes that the raid was unjust and if they apologise, that will be sufficient," Foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, insisting on compensation. Israeli’s opinion is that they don’t have the obligation to apologize to anyone if their goal was to defend its people. And point that they are sorry about the loss of lives, but “it was not the Israeli side that initiated the violence", say Israeli officials. And, they are not convinced that Turkey only wants an apology because to them, it is a little bit strange, how comes, Turks search for a regret and do that using terms of ultimatums and threats. But, it seems like Turkey doesn’t have patience to wait for a change of opinion and isolating Israelis would be their strongest weapon counter them. As the rules of diplomacy usually say, when it comes to such a bilateral conflicts, the ambassador of the insulted country, lives the country where it serves. The same happened with Turkish! ambassador in Tel Aviv.
