When a natural disaster happens, then the mankind stupidity shows on the surface! The dangerous and criminal minds are especially smart then. While two million people in Chile suffered because of the quake that hit on Saturday, some smart guys misused their unhappiness and started pillaging. Willing to stop the criminal in the city of Concepcion, the nation’s President Michelle Bachelet, commanded that 14.000 soldiers should help the local police. But, still the looters become more and more organized. The curfew is been extended in the city, so the aftermath of the catastrophe would be smaller. Robbers burned stores, and the residents were very angry, because the offi! cials didn’t give them the right support and especially the food delivery was very slow. The government blamed the delayed help because of destroyed roads and power disruptions. Residents organize themselves to save their properties from the robberies. Mayor Jacqueline Van Rysselberghe warned against serious “social tension” in the city. “We need food for the people. We are without supplies, and if we don’t resolve that we are going to have serious security problems during the night. We are at the end of the month. There are no stocks in the households. But nothing justifies looting, vandalism and theft. We have seen people coming out of supermarkets with plasma screens. If we don’t resolve this problem of food today, we could have a very confrontational situation.” It is good to know that people still know when to help. The European Union gave Chile four million dollars, Japan offered 3, and China – 1. If the quake estimat! ions are 15 billion dollars, than these sums are not efficient! , but st ill welcomed. The 8.8 magnitude earthquake killed at least 712 people. This is the seventh strongest earthquake in world’s history! A NASA scientist came up with a theory these days that this earthquake probably influenced the Earth axis, which means that it could shorten days.
