Red Shirts demonstrations against president in Thailand
by Zivka Deleva

The unsatisfied groups more often decide to organize and protest. Impoverished Greek people strike almost every day against its government, people of Ivory Coast protested against the actual government begging it to go away. The right to say loud what you think, seems to be used more often than used to. Now, we can see a similar example in Thailand’ Bangkok, where about 80.000 protesters calling themselves “Red Shirts” went marching the weekend and they no longer want to have Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva leading their county. The rally as far is not violent, but want Parliament to be dissolved immediately, Prime Minister to resign or they will continu! e demonstrating. Vejjajiva and his six party coalition don’t give in the warm seats and moved to barracks. He sais that there will be elections under common rules, peaceful atmosphere and when not only some protesters would like. "Chaos will not be triggered by the government. I want to reassure the public that my government will continue working and restore normalcy as soon as possible," said Abhisit, before leaving the army barracks. The protesters are loyal to the previous Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. If the protesters don’t et the right answer till today, they are ready to take more steps and their number is going to increase, said Shinawatra. People have the right to protest around the barracks, only they must not obstruct the traffic or intrude the barracks. Thaksin has received a two-year sentence for abuse of power, and now lives in self-imposed overseas exile. Unlike the last major protests in this country, in April, last year, when there tw! o people were killed and dozens were injured, the Red Shirts ! insist t hat they protest stays non-violent. Let's wait and see what will happen these few days and who will win these demonstrations - will the people be more powerful than the politics?
