Polish Plane Transcripts by Claudia Sonea

This week is marked by sad events that show we are ephemeral beings and that we should live the moment rather than have regrets. Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper departed, On Tuesday was the one year anniversary of the Air France Flight 447 crash and transcripts from the Polish plane carrying President Lech Kaczynski were published. In the media there was highly speculated that the crash of the Polish aircraft was planned because it did not kill only the President, but also top military commanders, the Polish central bank governor and many lawmakers. Russia and Poland had many disputes over gas supplies a! nd other political matters that made many people doubt that it was just an accident. The Russians’ attitude, helpful and willing to share everything it only reinforced the doubts people had. Nonetheless, the transcripts show that pilots received dozens of warnings from the systems to pull up and that they deliberately disregarded them until it was too late to avoid the imminent crash. There also an unidentified person in the cockpit that was not part of the crew and who according to the recordings was saying something that would make Kaczynski responsible for the tragedy. Being late at the 70th anniversary of 22,000 Polish army officers and intellectuals who were killed by the Russian secret police, the president supposedly pressured the crew to land in spite of being warned of the thick fog. Light was brought into the case Polish prosecutor who was joining the Russians in recovering the recordi! ngs. Apparently the guilt lays solely on the Polish poor inves! tments i nto the aviation. Yet, the explanation is far stretched as it is the president involved and top Polish personalities, thus most surely the plane and the pilot were the best of the best. What about the fact that Polish skillfulness in flying a plane remained in history? All this still cast a shade of doubt on the recordings.
