Brazilia's next president may be a woman. For the first time in the history of this South-American country, a woman is competing to sit on the highest chair. Dilma Rousseff, 62 the member of Worker Party, politician and economist has officially announced her candidacy this week. The current president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is one of her strongest supporters. Lula who has been the most popular president ever, gained people's sympathies as he begun in poor working class, ending on as the country's man no. 1. Since it's his second term as a president, Brasilian law prohibited him from entering the race for the third time. Rousseff stated he was “totally prepared”! ;for governing the country, she also mentioned the economy should stayed the biggest priority. Brasilia has become one of the world's biggest economies past few years. Except of this, the positive change may happen in the society. The country is considered being gender unequally. According Lula women were seen as “the second-class citizen". Only few of them were able to conquer the jobs in politics, public sector and top management. The woman in the front should ease the social prejudice. She should also attract women in the country and make them vote. Rousseff claimed she would keep Lula's policy but would expand the role of state enterprises, tax reform and improving social welfare programs She promised to keep the civil service although the opposition called it “a bloated and inefficient state bureaucracy”. Critics suggest that even she tried to continue Lula's governancy, she was not seen as charismatic person. According analysts she should loose voice! s because of her inability talking to the people.Whether it is! true or not, her rival conservative Sao Paulo state Governor Jose Serra was up between 5 to 11 percent, according two poll agencies.
