Last month Apple managed to surpass Microsoft in market capitalization and some thought it is just a matter of time until Apple will also become leader in sales. Microsoft is however a company with a long history and even managed to overcome legal disputes with the U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission. Consequently, the tide is high and there is no way to predict what will happen next. At a pre-show for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Microsoft showed once again why it is worthy of consumers’ trust and why the company is the leader on the IT market. Confirming the rumours, Treyarch studio head Mark L! amia, introduced the long awaited motion-controlling Kinect, former Project Natal. In fact Kinect is a controller-free console that functions based on the body motions, rising the gamer to the rank of “doer”. Being a product made especially for the Xbox 360 platform, the launch of the controller-free device was accompanied by the release of new interesting games and sequels to games issued earlier like Fable 3. The console is not yet finished and there are still some features to be added in order to enhance the user’s experience. Moreover, the main goal is to improve the Xbox LIVE and contribute to a better cohesion among the users. A downside easily to note is the aspect of the console which is rather dark and boring.
