The riots continue in Kyrgyzstan by Claudia Sonea

What was once a magnificent country with notable social, economic and cultural development, is now rapidly heading towards destruction and dissolution as an independent territorial organization. Kyrgyzstan in the 1920s was flourishing from all points of view, but the glasnost and the Russian sovereignty amplified the inter-ethnic differences that continued even after obtaining the independence. The struggle for power is usually given between several inter-ethnic groups that have the enough money and influence to flare spirits. Since April this year, a string of violent acts have marked the country and for! mer president Kurmanbek Bakiye was forced to flee the country, leaving in charge a temporary government. The violent incidents reached new levels after the returning of the businessman and political leader Urmat Baryktobasov who is pursuing to get the presidential chair. On Saturday, President Roza Otunbayeva was sworn in as president of the conflict torn country Kyrgyzstan. She put aside all other problems and focused on adopting a new constitution that marks the country as one of the first parliamentary democracy in the region. Her desire to bring stability is however, clashing with the personal interest and the dream of power of some people like Baryktobasov. After seven years of exile, he returned home where he was arrested and brought into custody for investigation. Allegedly he demanded to be named prime minister and forget about the investigation in exchange of calling off the riots. Whether ! it is true or just a false accusation, Baryktobasov has to be ! investig ated jus like anybody else in order to clear all suspicions. It is hard for the country to reach a state of peace with violence everywhere and the coexistence of both Russian and American bases. However, stay connected as you might be surprised.
