Fortieth Kyrgyzstan people die in opposition riots by Zivka Deleva

Forty people were killed and more than 400 were wounded after an uprising happened in Kyrgyzstan, willing to change the actual President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. This is not the first time that this former Soviet Union country has chosen the bloody way to change the government. Bakiyev, five years ago took the presidential place the same way, organizing the Tulip Revolution. Last year he had his second term, but the public wasn’t convinced that it was fair election. The police had a cruel crash with five thousands of demonstrators in front of the President’s residency. Bakiyev proclaimed state of emergency and ordered the army to take any necessary steps to clean up! the mess. The big bloodshed started when demonstrators kidnapped the regional governor of the town Talas, they destroyed his residency and burned Bakiyev’s portraits. The riots were transferred into Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek, where nobody knew who is shooting, who is the shot one. The conflict came as a result of the political crisis in the impoverished Kyrgyzstan, which is considered as one of the most corrupted countries in the world. Even the United Nations alarmed this county’s officials that they should more on the behalf of the human rights protection. The situation in Kyrgyzstan isn’t only an internal problem for the people, but as well, for the big forces USA and Russia, that have strategic war basis. USA sends supplies into Afghan war zone and Bishkek on the other hand depends on the money help they get from Washington, Moscow or Beijing. Kyrgyzstan’s mountains are rich with gold and uranium, so that seems to be another intere! st for the big forces. The opposition has formed a provisiona! l govern ment led by Roza Otunbayeva, a former Foreign Minister, that is suppose to govern the country in the next six months.
